Zahira College heads 100th year with productivity

Productivity is no longer a new concept to Zahirians. Though Islam has taught us and our beloved Prophet (SAW) has guided us through the basic principles and techniques of productivity, today, it has been practiced by many organizations and individuals as a product of Japan. This concept was implemented when the National Productivity Secretariat conducts the National Productivity Awards competition every two years, which is open to both government and public sector organizations. After implementing the productivity concept within the school as a culture in 2016, our College took part in this competition for the first time in the year 2018. There, we secured the national level 3rd place in the school category having a tough competition with more than 1000 schools. A panel of judges appreciated our College for being the first school to win an award at its first attempt.

A proper evaluation is always needed to assess the progress. Therefore, our former principal, Asheik M. M. Javad, applied for the National Productivity Awards competition consecutively in the year 2020 to bring positive change and continuous progress. He also brought many changes, made a few firm decisions at the administrative level, and had a clear plan for developing the physical resources and empowering the human resources with the cooperation of the supporting bodies of Mother Zahira to root this productivity within the community as a culture. Unfortunately, the competition was postponed to 2021 due to the Pandemic situation. Though it was postponed, our present principal, Mr.H.L.Jiffry, with his team, is steering our College towards its vision while promoting productivity in a standardized way.

Accepting our application sent in 2020, an officer visited our College while a panel of three judges joined the officer via ZOOM online auditing on the 22nd of February 2021. The auditing went on till 4.30 p.m. The result of this audit will be informed later, and we hope to get a report on their judgment and suggestions for the future progress of our College. It is easy to talk about change but changing one’s attitude takes much time. On the other hand, creating a new thing is complex but breaking the already made is simple. Let’s go ahead with the positive and productive changes which benefit our community for another 100 years.
